Trip Report: The Alpilles

One week holidays southern France, it feels good ... We chose to go in the Alpilles. Between the deadly bullfights in Arles Feria and flamingos of the Camargue, I must confess that we have a little rose:

Saint-Remy de Provence:
Two sites to choose from: Mont Gaussier (rather hard) and the valley of Valample. We opted for the second-home and easy access. Pleasant site with short climbs and very technical slab. One problem that day: the Mistral. Sky blue, but almost impossible to stay in south face even sunlight ... After some ways, we take refuge in a small sheltered porch and a little more elevation.

Fontvieille:
Sun
lead and finding a beautiful mountain range. The climbing is officially prohibited for risk of falling rocks, but nothing is reported there. At the sight of several heart-shaped, we chose to go over the mayor's decision. What happiness! What avenues of ill! I already want to go back ... despite the real risk of falling entire rock wall!
Orgon :
After a night of rain, everything is soaked. Direction "Le Canal" in Orgon who as I remember (over 15 years) sheltered from the rain. Yeah, sheltered from the rain but many cast ... A four-lane is climbable. Is not too serious because it really is a crap site! It weathered and cut to death! One positive point: it ensures the trunk of the car ;-).

Mouries:

An impressive north face which makes the happiness of the strong climbers 80s. The climbing is super technical routes are really hard to read and quotes ... do not talk! Just as Fontvieille, dying is a cliff that is worth a look authentic. Climbers room: go!

Other massive exist in the region (Aureille Eyguières ,...). For more information, please visit the online topo Alpilles here.
